What do you guys do on Mother's/Father's Day?
I'm a newly single mom. My son is under two so he obviously didn't do anything for Mother's Day, and my soon-to-be ex-husband didn't and won't ever again do anything for me.
I really don't care about gifts but I think it's important to teach my son to show appreciation for the people he cares about and holidays are a good way to do that. So how do I manage that on Mother's Day or my birthday or Christmas? While he's young, I'm thinking I'll take him to a store and give him a small amount of money and ask him to get me something, but that just feels so weird to do that. Also, if I do that, do I help him wrap it and then open it on the holiday?
What do you guys do on these holidays?
