2017 Ford Escape · SE Sport SUV 4D 2.0L EcoBoost
I currently drive a 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5s that I bought for $5000 at 150k miles. It’s now at 192k and will cost about $7000 to fix everything that broke down on me.
With that being said, I’ve been on the hunt for an SUV for about 3 weeks and have looked at rav4s, CRVs, CX-5, etc. and have struggled to find a car that will be reliable and cheaper than $15000 (most I will pay as I am paying cash). I have found the suvs I listed above but can’t find one cheaper than $14000 with less than 150k miles.
I did test drive a 2017 ford escape with 80k miles. It was listed on fbmp at $10500 as it has a rebuilt title from a front end accident where the airbags did deploy. If I make an offer on this car, I have no intention of paying anything more than $9500. Everything did feel great, no issue with acceleration, brakes, tires, anything electrical.
I am 19 years old and don’t plan on ever getting rid of the car until it doesn’t drive anymore. Is this even worth me making an offer or should I try looking elsewhere or should I try to fix my car now (smashed exhaust, broken ac, bald tires, smashed muffler, messed up alignment).
Thanks so much for any insight!!
