Prot Pala Merciless Gladiator Shield
*Edit: I learned that Arena points get reset with the new PvP season. So I'll be farming the 2k again come the new season. Still, I'd like to hear your opinion.
I saved up 2k Arena points for when the second PvP season launches to buy the BiS shield for P2. But I'm finding it tough to make a decision on which of the two. All BiS lists and Sixtyupgrades put the Shield Wall (48 stamina) on top, but I'm finding it hard to justify over the Barrier (27 stamina, 19 intellect, 33 spell power).
21 extra stamina is a lot, but it's not even two blue gems worth of stats, while the 33 spell power alone is worth over three red gems worth of stats. That's not including the extra mana and a bit of crit from the 19 intellect.
I also farm Stratholme sometimes and want to play Shockadin a bit in PvP for fun (as I'm looking forward to playing Preg in Wrath). Obviously, the spell power shield is a lot better for those purposes.
But I'm looking for some opinions purely for PvE tanking in Phase 2. Is the extra stamina or spell power stronger to have in that role? Also, the Aldori Legacy Defender brings 21 defense and 51 stamina. Is the 448 armor and 15 block value upgrade from the Arena shield really better than the extra avoidance?
