Need advice on a Delta oversold flight situation
At the gate, Delta asked for volunteers in exchange for compensation, but nobody volunteered.
Later, my girlfriend was told there were no seats left because the system oversold the flight, and she was forced onto a later flight. Staff confirmed the oversale issue directly.
They only offered hotel + transportation, but we already had housing nearby so we declined and asked for another solution. No other compensation was provided.
Would this count as involuntary denied boarding under DOT rules, or is this considered normal handling for an oversold flight?
