After 4 years and 2 surgeries, new diagnosis of OCD

Sorry in advance for the long post. I am just looking for some support and to connect with people who understand what this is like, because at this point I feel pretty lost and alone.

In 2022 I had a bimalleolar fracture with dislocation after falling down stairs. I had surgery with a plate and 8 screws. I recovered well initially and was able to get back to my active job and life. About two years later the pain started coming back and gradually got worse. I opted to have my hardware removed this past November but unfortunately the pain remains. Even after 12+ weeks of intensive physio.

I finally got an MRI which confirmed an osteochondral defect on my medial talar dome - 7x10x7mm with cartilage thinning. I also have three strained ligaments and tenosynovitis in three tendons.

I've been struggling to get proper specialist care and have felt pretty dismissed and alone throughout this process. I just saw my original surgeon today and he basically told me I have no options and to just take Tylenol and to manage my weight with exercise. Hearing this was extremely upsetting.... As if I don't want more than anything to be able to hike and bike and run again. Despite all of the pain I'm in, I still do strength training and ride my bike, but now even that's causing pain flares. I miss being my active self SO much.

I'm currently unable to work full time. I'm on long term disability and working 3 days a week as my job is extremely active. The days I do work, I'm averaging 10k steps.

Anyways .... Currently waiting to see a foot and ankle specialist and trying to figure out my options .... I just feel so disheartened.

I'd love to hear from you guys and have some input on:

- conservative treatment vs surgical

- PRP injections

- which surgery options there are and how successful are they?

I appreciate it and look forward to reading your responses!

For context, I watched the OC as it was released. I hated season 4. So did all of my friends.

I've rewatched the show MANY times and often skipped this season. I decided this time around I would give it another go with an open mind.

Honestly, it's cheesy and doesn't feel ANYTHING like the first couple seasons. It almost feels like a parallel universe, just like episode 7. As I've been watching it I've kind of treated it as if it were parallel to the original show - one that's way less serious, one where Ryan isn't being dragged down by constant drama and misfortune, etc.

And I think I actually kinda like it. 😩

Ok that's all goodbye!
