To avoid another purchase I mixed a glow powder with a sheer polish for a pink backlit set 🎆💓

Visibly homemade 😂 but I’m proud i didn’t give up when it would be easier to just cave in and buy one

After the Kittenmonjoro reveal looking nearly identical to Merkitten (not different enough to easily add to cart at least) and the glow looking more peachy than true pink….I had to experiment with some DIY before the release next week.

Last month I backlit Merkitten with Avatar State, and someone recommended Techno Glow to DIY more GITD colors, so I got a few 1oz bags for variety, and this is the first attempt of pink. On my makeshift paint palette, I mixed GoH with Techno Glow pink powder. The mix was close to Merkitten just slightly more neon, ironically.

The glow lasted longer when I blended with moon dust since the slight opacity blocks the GITD crystals from light it needs in order to glow. However, since this is on the inside of the nail, I preferred the hue when mixed with GoH knowing it dims the glow slightly. 3rd pic is moondust mix - too warm toned.

While it was easy to mix, it was time consuming doing a drop at a time to avoid contamination. This was in no attempt to denounce the release, if anything I hope it excites anyone looking for a pink GITD more! I just had to test what was possible with what i already had first.

In order to make “pink nails” feel more like me…had to add a lil edge. Now they look like a street racer.

1. base and primer
2. painted the inside tips with Avatar State (2 coats) 3) 3-4 coats of Merkitten for opacity (AS is bright and needed coverage!)
3. stickers for flair

After photo, I topped with Speed Demon. Normally, speed demon is just protection but it really made Merkitten GLOSS, looks like hard candy now.
