Extended Warranty Info

I bought my 2023 Big Horn through CarMax. I've had it about a year. It had 9K on the clock when I bought it, almost 15K now. While low mileage, it has a lot of idle hours and I know nothing about it's history so I decided to check on the factory extended warranty through the dealer. I'd been getting emails from Ram about extended warranties so I replied and got a quote of $3230 for 8 years/60,000 miles for the Premium plan that covers nearly every non maintenance item on the truck. Before I pulled the trigger I decided to give the dealer a shot to match the price. I prefer to spend my money locally when I can. Wow! Not only did they match it, they beat if by over $1500! I got the Premium factory 8/60 extended warranty for just over $1800 including sales tax. That was $100 dollars over the dealer invoice. I realize not every dealer is going to sell at invoice+. Many/most will sell at the retail price (that was $2800 instead of the $3200+ I was quoted on line) but some will deal. The point is, if you're thinking of buying the factory extended coverage, check around. You'll get different prices and you might be surprised.

Dealer reset after battery replacement?

I just watched a video on YT about modern batteries requiring a module flash from a dealer after replacing the truck's battery(s). That's a bit concerning. However, a quick Google on the subject says it's no issue, just some automatic computer re-learning after the swap. So, which is it? A straight forward swap or will I have to pay a dealer for two minutes of computer time if I do it myself? My truck is a 2023 Big Horn. My last truck purchase prior to the 2023 was a 2003 so all this computer nonsense is new to me. Thanks.
