What Career Should I Choose After 12th in Tech, and Is Doing an Online/Distance Degree Worth It? – Need Genuine Guidance From Someone Experienced

I recently passed my Class 12th from Delhi, and honestly, I’m feeling completely confused and scared about my future. I have hundreds of doubts about my career like which carrier should I choose, what degree I should do, and whether I’ll even be successful in life. The fear of wasting years and still not getting a good job is constantly stressing me out.

The biggest problem is that I don’t really have anyone to guide me properly through all of this. I seriously wish there was someone experienced who could help me understand what path is right for me.

I’m very passionate about technology and creative work. I enjoy things like graphics, design, and creating stuff. Right now, my plan is to pursue an online or distance degree while simultaneously learning a practical skill and gaining real experience in that field. My thinking is that by the time my degree is completed, I’ll already have both a degree and industry experience. But I honestly don’t know if this plan is smart or risky.

I was earlier thinking about becoming a UI/UX designer because I enjoy creative design work, but after seeing how AI tools are growing, I started doubting that career choice. Then I considered becoming a 3D designer or a game designer/developer since I already have some hands-on experience with Blender and Unity. But after researching more, I got a harsh reality check — the market seems very competitive, job opportunities look limited, and even experienced people are struggling to find jobs, especially in India where competition is extremely high.

Now I’m confused again and thinking of dropping this plan too. I genuinely don’t know what to do anymore.

My Real Questions:

  1. What career path should I pursue if I’m interested in tech and creativity ?

  2. Are online or distance degrees actually worth it in today’s job market ?

  3. Is game dev and 3D designers are not getting jobs ?

  4. Is my idea of doing a degree alongside learning practical skills and gaining experience a good plan or a bad one?

I would truly appreciate honest guidance from someone experienced because right now I feel completely lost.
