Another stupid r/dnd post

Just in time for DM Appreciation Day, my friends and I are about to start a campaign having the DM know as little as possible about the players characters. The idea is that the DM also has to “discover” about the character stats, like resistances, saving throws, ac etc. This would make the DM's job easier by not burdening them with unnecessary information.

Of course, we'll expect the DM to meticulously craft a campaign that includes all details of our backstories because that's what people on YouTube do.

Obviously, none of us know what we are doing so please tell me how revolutionary an idea this is.

I'm thinking about starting a new online campaign and adverti6for players. Given the number of players who acquaint themselves with D&D by playing the Baldur's Gate 3 video game, is it worthwhile to buy, prep, and recruit players to play the campaign?

I apologize! I didn't understand that the BG 3 video game had a different plot than the Descent into Avernus campaign. Crisis averted.
