Family Tunnel Tent
Hi All,
Would appreciate some ideas for a new tent! The recommendations I’ve seen for others are not any that I’d found whilst looking myself.
Family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids.
We currently have a Coleman air Valdes 6xl, its essentially faulty and should have been returned but my husband lost the receipt 🙃 the blackout has all worn off, and the bedroom air pole at times refuses to stay inflated, and at other times is absolutely fine (so I don’t think there’s a puncture!). As far as I can see there is no support or replacement parts available, and I’m not even sure a replacement tube would help! However I LOVE the layout out the tent and actually the tent itself. But we woke up in a puddle of rainwater after it refused to stay inflated…and then stayed inflated with no issues for the next 3 days.
Requirements:
- Tunnel tent, im not a fan of one bedroom on each end of the tent
- probably a 6 person minimum, kids are small currently but will get bigger
- blackout/darkened bedrooms
- front porch area, does not necessarily need to be enclosed
- £700/£800ish
- open to air or pole
- replacement parts available of air tents - a lot of the well priced tents seem to be reduced/last season which isn’t a problem, but we’ve already hit an issue with no support being available for an expensive tent and I don’t want to end up in the same situation again after spending another reasonable sum of money
I looked at the Berghaus nightfall 600xl, but it doesn’t have great reviews and it’s HUGE. We simply don’t need a tent that big!
Similarly the decathlon 6 person looks fab but is £1000.
