In Yhwach's perspective, he was right, not because he was selfish but he once cared about people, we can see that in the start of tybw ep24. Imagine you constantly live like this, i think that made him crazy and selfish that he wanted to create a world that he is no longer feel the vindictiveness and the fear of people who are dying, not thinking the ramifications of his actions.
