GPU not detected on new build
ISSUE
I just finished my first PC build, but have been stuck for the last week trying to resolve an issue. Unfortunately I'm not able to get the system to detect the GPU. I can only display output from the MB integrated graphics. GPU fans and RGB do turn on. I don't get an illuminated VGA LED on the MB and it does not display an error code on the debug LED. I was able to install Windows 11 using the integrated graphics.
SYSTEM - components purchased new
- AMD 9800X3D CPU
- PowerColor Red Devil 9070XT GPU
- MSI X870 Tomahawk WiFi MB
- V-Color Manta X-Finity OLED DDR5 6000 RAM
- WD SN850X 1TB SSD
- NZXT C850 ATX 3.1 Gold PSU
- MSI A13 AIO
- NXZT H6 Flow Case with full fan setup (including NZXT fan controller)
TROUBLE SHOOTING
- I updated the motherboard BIOS to latest version, and also tried one version older.
- Changed BIOS settings from PCIE gen auto, to 5, and 4. Cleared CMOS multiple times.
- AMD chipset driver has been updated to latest version.
- I've re-seated the GPU and RAM multiple times.
- Reconnected and confirmed proper connection on all power plugs. I also tried changing the order of the 3 GPU power plugs.
- Swapped the GPU to the other two available PCIE lanes
- Attempted to update the AMD 9070XT drivers but can't since it is not detected and the AMD installer will not proceed.
- Pulled everything out of the case and mock assembled on the motherboard box.
I'm out of ideas for troubleshooting, and it's hard to pinpoint exactly where the issue is without any spare parts to swap out or test with. If I do have a bad part I'm not sure how to proceed with the RMA process (motherboard, GPU, CPU or ???).
