Non-responder to Mad Honey? No psychoactive effects even at 20g (Nepalese). Anyone with a similar body chemistry?
I’ve been experimenting with the Nepalese variety of Mad Honey, but my body seems completely immune to the psychoactive and relaxing effects.
On my first attempt, 3 hours after my last meal, I took 8g (precisely measured) and felt nothing for the next 5 hours. The next day, I repeated the process, but this time took 16g. Aside from a dull pressure in the back of my head and some mild ringing in my left ear, I still didn’t feel any of the intended effects. I didn’t even experience any heaviness in my limbs; honestly, I felt perfectly fine to just hop on the treadmill and run.
Four days later, I increased the amount to 20g (from a fresh, second jar) on a completely empty stomach. Result? Absolutely nothing – zero positive or negative effects.
For context on my physiology: I lead a regular lifestyle and weigh 102 kg (about 225 lbs), but I’m not obese – I recently got back into a regular gym routine, so I have a fairly fast metabolism and solid build. I don't have any addictions and only drink alcohol maybe once a week. Interestingly, I've always had an unusually high natural tolerance for alcohol (I never pass out or vomit, even when drinking heavily, and usually feel quite fresh at the end of a party).
Does this mean I’ll just never experience the "honeymoon phase" with grayanotoxins? Am I biologically wired to just filter them out before they cross the blood-brain barrier? Has anyone else encountered this kind of natural immunity or been in a similar situation?
