Was commissioned to make a pencil sharpening knife, and here's what I came up with! 1084 steel with a patina finish and oak scales lightly stained purple and wax finished. Still awaiting sharpening, but I think it's neat!

I'm currently in the planning phase of a matched set of knives for a friend/client, one large and one small. He's a leather worker, and told me he's excited to make a sheath to carry them both. Since they're going to be carried together, I decided it would be cute to justify that by giving the small one a fine edge chisel grind, and the large one a rough and tough Scandi grind. It feels very self explanatory, and I've used and sharpened scandis all my life after getting hooked on Moras as a kid, but I wanted to reach out and see if there are any unexpected pitfalls to watch out for!
