[Mage: The Awakening 2E] Creating True Life - A viable source of souls?
So, I was speaking with some mates. We were talking about souls and their uses, and creating them came up. I know the book says it is theoretically possible to create them using Making (level 5) in all the Subtle Arcana, but that is a very difficult level to reach.
Then I had the thought that souls are created naturally when people are born. However, it would be difficult to find parents willing to sacrifice their children's soul for a mage to harvest. I also couldn't find anything that said that being soulless would prevent someone from having a child with a soul.
So, the theory. A sufficiently Left Handed mage uses Create Life (Life 5) to make two humans, then commands them to procreate, thus creating a child with a soul (optionally using Temporal Pocket (Time 5) to speed the process up), and then harvest the soul of said child with Sever Soul (Death 3).
This gives said mage a consistent and renewable source of souls to be used for whatever purposes, with no one to object or get in the way. Additionally, the child could also be used as a Blood Sacrifice to provide mana for future spells if desired.
This is much more achievable for a mage to do. It requires only one to two Arcanas at a Master level, and another at a Disciple level. It would also not be difficult for a determined, skilled mage to acquire the resources needed to facilitate this process, especially one without morals stopping them from taking advantage of others.
Is there anything I'm overlooking that would prevent this from working? Thanks in advance for humouring my deranged thought experiment.
(Also, strictly speaking, this doesn't have to be exclusive to MTAw 2E, that is just the version I am most familiar with, and so I'm using that as the basis for the discussion.)
