Today was Execution Clap by TRAP CHICK! I can see why it’s so popular, I’d definitely put it into the category of “post-Mesmerizer effect” Vocaloid songs, if you can get what I mean. Honestly this story reminds me of Servant/Daughter of Evil with how it seems to be that the main character is in control and abusing the power by killing whoever they don’t like or agree with. The animation was pretty good, definitely that newish style I mentioned earlier but that’s okay. The song was sorta catchy, but this makes me realize the fact that VocaPs who use like SynthV and such are starting to lose the signature style that a lot of old producers have. (Like how you can tell which producer made the song just by hearing the tuning of the Vocaloid. 8/10!

Today was I Have No Choice by Hear_T_oucH! Uhm, I don’t know if I’m able to say the full title so I’ll just leave it at that… Honestly this was a pretty funny song, I think it was mainly made for jokes. If you had this just come up in a playlist randomly, you’d probably just leave it on without knowing what it is. I do have to say that the animation and illustration is pretty good though, especially the detailed parts. Apparently it means “living even if you expose your shame,” which is actually a pretty good message. 6.5/10!

Today was Therefore You and Me by TadanoCo! I actually stumbled across this song through a KanaMafu video featuring this song by M@yDay_! (I ADORE KanaMafu so much 🥰) It turned out to be quite a classic Vocaloid song in my opinion, being 12 years ago, but it still sounds so good and even Miku’s quality sounds amazing as well. I interpreted it as being in a relationship where it feels just perfect: like “you are the bread to my butter” or cliche things like that. (Or the meat to my curry or the hands to my clock in this case.) I like Miku’s style in this too, it feels like she’s just a regular person in this. I ALSO LOVE THE ANIMATION FOR THE KANAMAFU ONE TOO (totally normal about it I swear.) 9.5/10!

Today was DOLL by MiliSen! It was genuinely a really great song, and it sounded like a k-pop song too in my opinion. I love Teto’s design in this song too, she looks so classy. It’s rare that you get to see a vocaloid romance song that’s not that dark, so that was definitely interesting to see as well. 9/10!

Today was First Train by SO87 in collaboration with Crypton! A really good song, the song sounded really calming and almost friendly. The lyrics sort of reminded me of Hope Cafe (gee I wonder why haha.) Miku’s casual design is nice, although she’s wearing her own face which I found funny- Shout out to Richie’s Cafe! 7.5/10!

Today was i just liked you.wav by Woodship! Eh- I don’t have a whole lot to say about this one, this just stumbled across my for you page. Though it feels like some lost media people would find (even though it was posted just a day ago) but also sounds like when you’re just playing around with the Vocaloid program. The song itself sort of reminded me of Okaasan- but it wasn’t quite appealing; not something I think someone would unironically listen to. 5/10!

Today was Gas-Gas-Yummy by Rukia! A very silly song, it was literally just about KAFU drinking gasoline- It sounded similar to Kyoufuu All Back, and even had a reference to it too. Not a whole lot of things to say about this one, but I do find the other references really fun. There was a Chopper from One Piece reference, and SEKAI (one of my favorite Vocaloids) made an appearance too hehe. 6.5/10!

Today was Love Para by DECO*27! Since it released not too long ago, I figured I’d react to it. Really good song (but all Deco songs are) and just “poppy” if that makes sense. The visuals were really great too, and don’t quote me on this: but is this the first time Deco used his own 2 Miku styles in one of their songs? As for the meaning: it mentioned “junk love” a handful of times, so that makes me want to think that this is a song about being in a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship. 7/10!

Today was Blue Shift by Yowane! Ok wow, it’s genuinely really catchy to me so I may listen to it again tomorrow. I like the music video too, it’s not too much and not too little either, and it’s definitely pretty. Blue-haired Teto is a nice design, but I’m just more used to red-haired Teto. The producer also said that blue means youth in the east but depression in the west, and I like that addition to the song. 7/10!

Today was Adachi Rei by Chinamini_SatoP! Wow, this was actually a pretty good song. Somehow Teto got into the Adachi Rei factory, and was trying to blend in to not get eliminated but ended up being eliminated anyways- The song was pretty catchy to me, and I believe that the lyrics wouldn’t be understood without the music video, and I like songs when the music and the video compliment each other. (I really agreed with the lyrics “Adachi is supreme~” hehe) But I liked how different Teto sounded in this, almost mimicking Rei’s unique sound. 9/10!

Today was Magnet by Ryusei-P! 10/10, THIS WAS PEAK YURI! Can’t believe that I haven’t listened to this song before, only heard of it. I decided it was time to listen to it, and I also saw Magnet cosplayers at the Miku Expo I went to. Genuinely sounded good, I’m gonna listen to the English version later. I watched the googoo888 video, so of course the music video was also really beautiful.

Today was Borderline Girl by NIJUUGO*A and pips! I LOVED this song so much, it strangely appealed to me a lot. There’s a theme of a girl with BPD falling in love with someone, though the song did also remind me of Rabbit Hole a little bit. (Not like the Rabbit Hole that everyone thinks, but like the actual meaning of it because people tend to forget about that.) Teto sounded scratchy but also really smooth in this, it was really great. And the music video was really bouncy and the style reminds me of Mesmerizer’s, 10/10!
