I’m starting to get worried I was scammed or something. DLsite is supposed to be legit, I think, but I’m starting to doub myself.
I love vocaloid music so I was just curious if there are any vocaloids that I wouldn't know. And by niche I mean vocaloids that aren't Miku, Len, Rin, Kaito, Meiko, Gumi, or Luka. Also if you want you can add the title of your favorite songs sung by that vocaloid and I will listen to it :>
So the recent Kaito drama in Japan created a lot more noise than I expected to the point of mainstream news outlets talking about it so there were a lot of comments from avg Japanese folk around the posts too. ngl they gave me a new perspective about how avg "normie" in Japan sees this whole scene.
It seems like they do recognize some loids and naturally Miku but the thing is most of them don't know what they exactly are lol. Like, Hatsune Miku is closer to something like Hello Kitty for most people rather than an instrument. A lot of Japanese people were legit shocked to learn Miku they see in some promotional material and commercials was not getting controlled by some human like Vtubers. Most of them do now some songs but a lot of them were assuming they were just from the owners of Miku and were performed by a real human so producer ecosystem and the fact that these songs are made by random people in their bedrooms %99 of the time isnt really known. Some of them were bringing up the guy who married Miku after learning what she truly is and asking "so did he married a concept and not a real woman behind an avatar?"
Also some people found it both weird and interesting that fans were literally picking a fight with an idol to protect something that is equal to Buc-ee's Beaver in purpose. Cant really blame them since when you see an idol drama most people expect it to be with another idol or band, not a mascot for a product but after some Kaito fans explaining how much tags mean to smaller producers and artists for visibility I think it became a bit more understandable for everyone.
Anyway I just wanted to share what I saw as it was both interesting and funny in a way, also people knowing Gumi to the point of putting her next to Kagamines and Miku while not knowing about Kaito was unexpected ngl.

So I am a genetic looking 32yo gay man. I’ve always really liked Hatsune but never been a concert. I feel like I’m not the normal demographic for her fans. I don’t really know the normal protocol for her shows and I feel a bit shy going alone.

I don’t understand why Temcandoanything and 16:9 Krollo seem to go so unnoticed in the Vocaloid scene. They make some of the best Teto and Gumi songs that I’ve heard and no one seems to talk about them. Their songs have been on both Teto and Gumi’s top 10 most popular tracks on their official Spotify pages, currently with 4 on Teto’s and 6 on Gumi’s, which is very impressive. I highly recommend that you check these songs out. They’re fun and are a complete vibe. I will leave their official Spotify page links below. Give these a listen and tell more people about them. I have to say I'm actually quite proud of how the speed lines came out. I've never drawn them before.
