So um, this is a hill that apparently SOME people will die on.

I get the KAITO adult headcanon (you’d be very clueless not to see why). My headcanon age for Electric Weekend Zone KAITO is 25 years of age.

And uhhh…. I have my own headcanon age for him during brief yumeshipping which is 18 (I’m 19)

And before you yell at me new people who are finding me out I personally, love love LOVE KAIMiku, but I also hc his age to be at least 17 like when I’m shipping him with Miku. Why? Other than it being an appropriate age for Miku’s “canon” age, but I also think he has about the same type mannerisms that can easily be applied to a mid or late teen (and also cause I’m growing a little tired of his his being strictly tied to his adult age hc, but I hc them both to also be in their mid 20s). Like are we forgetting that some people around that age can also look and sound fairly mature? 

Ok. Am I prolly the only one here who has this headcanon about his age? Without a doubt from what I’ve seen, yes. Is it a headcanon nobody is going to really understand . Does that hurt me because everyone’s got their own hs? Nopeity nope nope. But it genuinely baffles me how much the headcanon of KAITO being middle aged adult matters so much to people that it gets to this point that they have to act like this is gospel. Like why the hell does that matter?

It’s especially ridiculous the shit I get from KAIMiku shipping despite that I see them as either teen x teen or adult x adult, easy as that, nothing more. KAILen too, although the teenage hc for them (17 x 14) is personally a little too big of an age gap for me to really ship them romantically (Wouldn’t put anything against it for the most part).

In conclusion, if you’re gonna hate someone’s hc of him being a teen and in your own fucking head, he is an adult and no other KAITO ship besides KAIMEI, KAILuka, GakuKAI and some other crap, is not permitted because of that, you’re the one causing the problem, not them.

Sorry, I feel the need to bang my forehead on a desk rn, a lot of Vocaloid drama, albeit usually uncommon, imo is just so stupid when it starting up because usually it’s shit like this. I don’t want to focus on the negative stuff so long but this has just been something I wanted to bring up because I feel like it needs to be brought up in the form of a reminder.

And despite what a few of my previous posts and my user flair might get you to believe I'm gonna try my absolute best to be unbiased. I don't know why I would be honestly but there you are.

This is more of a simple reminder/little rant and ramble on how I view the common misconception that this ship and others like it get online. I find it pretty irritating when it is started up ofc

But if I'm being a little honest, most of what has been said has been stated already. Still I'd be lying that these aren't anything I agree wholeheartedly ofc. Again, this is just a reminder for those who might be a little confused on the ordeal.

They have no fixed/canon ages, their ages are easily flexible and in synths like KAITO's case, have no official marketing age. That's why a good amount of people who ship KAIMiku say he looks atleast a teen like 17 because they have the freedom to depict him in any age because of it, and why Miku can be aged up to any age older so she and KAITO are both adults because that age was strictly a marketing design that shouldn't restrict any producers with their depictions.

Ofc most of my annoyance towards these types of people mainly come from the d-bags who are aggressive towards it for no damn reason. Like how the fuck does someone really get into VOCALOID and think KAIMiku is proship? It's especially a little irritating atleast to me when people throw like FBI jokes at artworks of the pairing that aren't even remotely in a problematic manner. 

It's a hugely frustrating thing to see as a KAIMiku shipper, and an open disregard for a pairing older than most modern fans, that made such a notable mark in the then-growing fandom, and has already been reduced to such an afterthought now.
