Mobula 6 won't arm, despite everything behaving as expected inside of Betaflight

My mobula 6 (betaflight) won't arm anymore, despite having flown once before. By not arming I mean that the motors won't spin at all in response to the controller, despite Betaflight being able to read the throttle, arm switch and make all four motors spin.

In betaflight:

  • remote sticks (including the arm switch) all respond as expected, throttle is below minimum when completely down
  • motors spin when controlled by betaflight
  • "status" in the terminal only shows MSP and CLI, which wouldn't be the case when the drone is not connected to the PC, but it still won't arm (before I also had the DSHOT_TELEM flag, but it was gone after I disabled it under the Motors tab - still won't arm)
  • Recalibrating the accelometer and reflashing with new firmware didn't do anything.
  • no warnings in the OSD
  • curiously, when I was just starting to try and debug the issue, two of the motors turned on for half a moment in response to the remote while unplugged from the PC and then off again twice or thrice. Not again in the past two hours though.

Frankly, I'm out of ideas. Both the hardware and the remote connections seem to work, and it worked before, so what could even be the problem?

Any help would be much appreciated!
