Japan 2026 Haul Report
Ended up going to Tokyo this week, here’s what I saw and got:
- Fitness Shop SUIDOBASHI
Winning accessories and apparel. A few lace gloves in specialty colors that were going for 100,000jpy+. Really wanted to get some Winning gym shirts but the Japan equivalent of a US L is a LLL. No shirts were available in LLL. No boxing shoes other than some winning mid tops that were too small for me.
Haul: Hat, gym towel, hand wraps, knuckle protectors.
- GRIT SUIDOBASHI
Lots of inhouse brand stuff. Quality seemed mixed from my limited experience. Few made in Japan gloves that were going for 30,000jpy+.
No boxing shoes, had some Winning accessories and shirts only.
Haul: nothing
- Prize Ring
Up the street from both of the above shops. Made in Pakistan gloves as well as some made in Japan boxing shoes. The boots were a cool retro leather design, but the size was limited to a US size 10. Boots were 50,000jpy if I remember correctly. A bit more than other makers of shoes. Lots of inventory of their gloves, super friendly husband & wife business. Only open on weekends, weekdays by appt.
Haul: 16oz white Velcro gloves. About 110$.
- Isami Shinjuku
Super busy shop in an extremely busy part of the city. Decent inventory of Isami as well as other brands such as Fairtex, Reyes, Fuego. First store with a decent selection of boxing shoes as well (Fuego, Nike, ASICS) Not many made in Japan Isami gloves were available.
Haul: Isami headgear, Isami groin protector, Fuego boxing shoes and socks.
- Isami Yokohama
A relatively quiet shop (it was a Monday). Good selection of boots, gloves etc. I think they had more inventory since they had most of their Isami IDX series gloves in stock (no 10oz Velcro in non-enamel). But did not have any Isami made in Japan head gears or Groin protectors. Larger selection of Reyes gloves, and first store with Mizuno boxing shoes!
Haul: Mizuno boxing shoes, Isami 10oz Velcro idx enamel gloves.
I still have some custom Tigrao gloves I’m picking up next week. Extremely happy with finding some quality gear that is hard to find in the USA. If anyone has any questions on any of the things I got, let me know. I’m relatively new to boxing so I don’t have any good comparisons to other brands (never used Winning gloves before).
