Why is mammo the “gold standard”
I have to VENT. I’ve been in remission for 6months. I finally had my first scan, a mammogram, which I KNEW would come back needing further testing. I’m 30 with extremely dense breast tissue. I had a SMX on my left side where the cancer was so they’re monitoring the right. Not only did they rip my skin while doing it, you can’t see anything clearly so now I need to go back for further testing and I’m fighting with them about it. They couldn’t even see my tumor during my very first scan because of my dense tissue. Now I have this lingering fear they’re going to miss something because it’s just so hard to tell. Am I missing something here???
