A former soldier who completed his 2 years service under the military conscription law was apprehended on the Shwebo-Mandalay road in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, according to local PDF (PaKaPha) officials.
The detainee, identified as Private Thein Zaw from Training Batch 2, was initially stopped alongside his wife, mother, and four children. While Private Thein Zaw remains in custody, his family members were released on the same day after signing a pledge.
