Need some opinions from people who’ve worked on Teslas.
My 2023 Model 3 Dual Motor started limiting charging every now and then because of voltage/temperature warnings. Then one day while driving I heard a loud pop, got a “Heating & Air Conditioning needs service” message, the car told me to pull over immediately, the high voltage system shut down, and eventually the 12V battery died too.
A Tesla specialist diagnosed a failed PCS and wants to replace it. I asked if they’re 100% sure the PCS is actually dead or if they’re just going off the fault codes, because another shop told me the PCS can sometimes be repaired instead of replaced.
Has anyone here had a PCS repaired successfully? Or is replacement usually the only realistic option?
Just trying to figure out if it’s worth getting a second opinion before spending a lot of money.
