Hey fellow Emperor’s Children

I have recently been struggling with painting our glorious army, I am doing a mostly pink with some black, silver and gold highlights.

I use a mix of ak pastel violet and intense pink to create the pink.

But it comes out streaky and or cakey/chalkey

What am I doing wrong? Too much water? Too little? Too much paint. (I know one of them just needs another layer but they always end up needing so many it comes out chalkey)

Its not a problem ive really had with my other armies (blood angels and purple grey knights)
