1 Week Dante Progress and asking for Tips and Advice :D

So I seriously started learning Dante in DMC5 around a week ago, and I wanted to share a bit of my progress and ask for some advice/tips from more experienced players.

The first thing I did was to watch this beginner Dante tutorial on YouTube and copy his control setup. At first it felt really awkward, but after a few days it became much more comfortable for me. Most of my practice has been against Vergil in Mission 19 on Devil Hunter difficulty, since I wanted to get used to real fights instead of only staying in the Void.

I’m also somewhat familiar with the series since I played DMC3 back in 2022, but honestly I don’t think it’s a huge advantage since Dante in DMC5 feels way more complex compared to DMC3.

At the beginning, I mostly relied on Swordmaster and Royalguard. Later on I slowly started getting comfortable with Trickster, and after that I began using Gunslinger more because of Double Kalina Ann and Ebony & Ivory. I’m still learning Dr. Faust, Shotgun, and some Swordmaster-specific King Cerberus moves.

Right now I’m finally starting to create my own simple combos instead of just copying things directly, which honestly feels really rewarding. What I usually do now is watch combo videos on YouTube, take inspiration from them, and then try to build my own variations from there.

My current plan is:
Dante → Nero → Vergil

I’m saving Vergil for last as a sort of reward for myself lol.

So yeah, I’d really appreciate any tips, advice, or even training exercises that helped you improve with Dante or DMC5 in general. Thanks!
