Finally switched to a glass mousepad

Disclaimer: This product was purchased with my own money. I am not affiliated with nor compensated by said brand in any way. Everything in this review reflects from my personal experience.

Been thinking about switching to a glass pad for a long time since cloth pads tend to accumulate oil and dirt over time, and cleaning them regularly becomes a hassle. Finally decided to make the switch.

The transition honestly doesn't feel bad at all. I was previously using a Cordura speed pad with Ice skates, and compared to that, the glass pad paired with UHMW-PE skates actually feels like it gives me more control. The main games I play are CS2 and Dota 2.

The downsides are that it's pretty expensive to get into, especially since most premium glass pads costs ₹10k. You also have to wipe the pad down with a microfiber cloth before gaming sessions to keep the glide consistent. And in weather like Chennai, wearing a sleeve is almost mandatory because of sweat and humidity.

Exactly a year ago, I built my PC. Since then, I’ve slowly been adding peripherals, think I’ve got most of them now.

Here are the specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7600x

Motherboard: MSI B650M Gaming WiFi

RAM: G.SKill Flare X5 32GB (16GBx2) 6000MHz CL30

Cooler: Deepcool AK400

PSU: MSI A850GL

Cabinet: Antec C3

GPU: Inno3D X3 RTX 5070 Ti

Storage: 1TB Gen 4 SSD + 2TB Gen 3 SSD

Monitor: MSI Mag 275QF

Keeb: Ajazz 820 max plus

Mouse: ATK A9 plus

Mouse pad: ARIXA Cordura

Controller: Gamesir nova 2 lite

IEM: GK Kunten

Mount: Jin office

Listing individual component prices feels pointless due to price fluctuations, but the total cost including peripherals comes to ₹1.7L
