Why are we so heavily centered around just 3 keyboard models?

I’ve been lurking here for a while, and one thing I’ve noticed is that a huge percentage of recommendations and discussions revolve around the same few keyboards:

  • MCHOSE G75 series
  • Ajazz AK820 series
  • Aula F75 series

Don’t get me wrong—they’re all solid keyboards and deserve the praise they get.

But when I started exploring the global mechanical keyboard scene, I realized there are so many other interesting manufacturers making excellent boards:

  • NuPhy
  • YUNZII
  • Keychron
  • MonsGeek
  • Epomaker
  • Rainy75 (WOBKEY)
  • CIDOO
  • Leobog
  • KiiBOOM
  • VGN / ATK
  • IQUNIX
  • MelGeek
  • Akko

Yet they barely seem to come up in discussions here compared to the “big three.”

Why do you think that is?

  • Are they simply too expensive once they reach India?
  • Is availability/import difficulty the biggest issue?
  • Is it because YouTube reviewers mostly cover these three models?

I’d genuinely love to see more variety in the discussions here. After all, we’re mechanical keyboard enthusiasts—not just enthusiasts of three specific keyboards. 🙂

Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts. Are there any underrated brands or models that you think deserve a lot more attention in the Indian community?

Is there actually a GOOD wireless gaming mouse under ₹2k, or should I just increase my budget?

Looking to buy a wireless gaming mouse with a budget of around ₹2,000.

The problem is, every mouse I check has people complaining about double-clicks, bad QC, sensor issues, or terrible after-sales support.

So, what's the current recommendation in India?

Priorities: Good sensor & low latency and Reliable for long-term use, along with Decent battery life

If ₹2k isn't enough for something dependable, I'm fine stretching my budget a bit. I'd rather buy once than regret it later.

What are you guys using and what would you recommend?

What's a budget 75% HE keyboard that will last for years?

I'm looking for a budget 75% Hall Effect (magnetic switch) keyboard, but my biggest priority is durability and reliability.

I don't really care about having the absolute fastest rapid trigger or the most RGB. I'd rather buy something that can survive daily use for several years without developing issues like:

dead keys

double presses

firmware problems

disconnecting randomly

switches failing early

Right now I'm considering boards like the IROK MG75 Pro and Akko TAC75 HE Glare, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Budget: around ₱3,000–₱5,000 (about $50–$90)

Thanks!

Just ordered Evofox X75

Is this MK good buy under 3550 was looking to buy Evofox Ronin but extend 400 and got this is this good compare to other MK in this range and how it is Compare to Aula F75 and Kreo Swamp.

Looking for reliable MK under 4k. Extendable to 5K

I have been hunfting for a good mechanical keyboard and this is going to be my very first one. I favour the TKL layout preferably red or brown switches. I couldn't really find major specs diffrences so I figured that pricier ones have better acoustics and feel. Honestly for me reliability matters more and I don't want to end up stuck with a keyboard not even working.

CosmicByte seemed like a good offering for the price point but no one on reddit seems to recommend , could you clarify why and recommend better alternatives. I had prefer wireless but quality takes precedence so I can manage.

I looked through the listings and found these.

KreoHive 65,CosmicByte Artemis wireless,Cosmic Byte Phantom,Evofox Ronin,Reddragon K552.

Now after going through a lot of posts on this sub I've realised no one likes any of these so I've updated my choices.

Aula F75 , Evofox Ronin X75 plus, Urx Core 75, Urx Core 68HE.

If you have your own choices maybe add them and do tell why you like them. My first and foremost requirement is reliability and after sales support. I umderstand if Kreo is complete hot garbage but their RMA actually listens so that made me choose it initially. Now I am gunning for the Ronin but if anyone can give me assurance about the more respected Aula & URX MKs then its also fine.

Should I replace this keyboard? AULA F75

I bought this AULA F75 mechanical keyboard from Amazon yesterday. At first glance I didn't like the look probably because all the prints seemed to be uneven. Idk if it's clear on the image but the function buttons are very thin and number keys are a bit more bold while the alphabets are very bold. On the other hand, the button with text (as you can see on the backspace key) are uneven in terms of the font thickness. Is this normal for this keyboard or should i replace the keyboard while i still can?

🚨🚨 URX Core75 Launch + Giveaway🚨🚨

Introducing the URX Core75 - Our Most Feature Packed Keyboard Yet.

Hey everyone!

We’re finally launching the URX Core75, and with this keyboard, we wanted to do something a little different.

Instead of just making another wireless keyboard with the same feature list as everything else in the ₹4,000–₹5,000 range, we looked at the things that keyboards in this segment usually compromise on, miss completely, or advertise without fully implementing.

Then we spent extra time trying to do them properly.

The Core75 launches at ₹4,799, and with the 5% checkout discount, it comes down to just ₹4,559. Order before 10th July and receive a free URX Keychain!

Here’s what we focused on.

Full Open Source QMK, VIA and VIAL

Real QMK/VIA support is extremely rare in this budget.

And even among keyboards that advertise QMK/VIA support, there is another problem: many manufacturers do not provide the keyboard’s QMK source code.

That defeats a huge part of the purpose of using QMK in the first place.

Without the source code, users cannot properly modify the firmware, build their own features, experiment with QMK, or make full use of what the ecosystem offers.

So with the Core75, we made the firmware fully open source.

You get:

  • Firmware based on QMK
  • VIA support
  • VIAL support
  • Open-source firmware
  • Per-key RGB configuration which many QMK/VIA keyboards lack
  • SOCD on WASD

We are especially happy about VIAL support. VIAL is a more advanced and enthusiast focused alternative to VIA, but it is extremely rare to see it offered on mainstream keyboards, especially anywhere near this price.

On top of all this, the Core75 also works with our own URX Hub, which has been completely redesigned.

50+ RGB Effects with SignalRGB/OpenRGB Support

The Core75 has bright per-key RGB LEDs that we have pushed as far as possible through firmware tuning.

You get:

  • 50+ built-in RGB effects
  • Per-key RGB configuration
  • SignalRGB support
  • OpenRGB support
  • PaletteFX effects

That gives the Core75 access to a much larger RGB ecosystem instead of limiting you to a handful of basic built-in animations.

The case itself is made from thick frosted translucent plastic, allowing the lighting to spread through the case and create a proper underglow effect when foams are removed.

We also deliberately went with north-facing LEDs.

For the Indian market, this makes a lot of sense because many users prefer top shine-through keycaps. North-facing LEDs allow those keycaps to light up properly, while also giving users more flexibility if they decide to change keycaps in the future.

Dual Mounting System: Gasket Mount + Top Mount

Gasket mount is becoming fairly common in this price segment. We went with a different option with Core75.

The Core75 supports both:

  • Gasket Mount
  • Top Mount

Top mount is usually seen on more enthusiast oriented custom keyboards.

It gives a more stable and controlled typing feel, with a more refined response compared to simply making the board as soft and flexible as possible.

Instead of forcing everyone into one mounting style, the Core75 lets you choose the feel you prefer.

Thick FR4 Plate

Most keyboards in this price range use PC plates.

We decided to use a thick 1.5 mm non-flex-cut FR4 plate instead.

FR4 costs more, but it gives the board a firmer, more consistent and more controlled typing feel.

Combined with the dual mount, this helps give the Core75 a more solid and refined character rather than an overly soft or hollow feel.

A Much Better Cable

Instead of including the usual thin braided cable, we went with something more premium.

The Core75 includes a thick cable with metal connectors, inspired by the look and feel of custom coiled cables.

It costs us more than a standard braided cable, but it makes a noticeable difference to the overall presentation and feel of the product.

Custom Pre Lubed Zen Switches

The Core75 uses custom switches developed in collaboration with CIDOO.

We tuned them for a deeper, thockier sound while also focusing on consistency across the board.

We wanted the stock typing experience to sound and feel good without requiring users to immediately replace the switches.

5-Layer Sound Dampening With a Thick Silicone Bottom

A lot of keyboards advertise multiple layers of sound dampening.

But the material used matters just as much as the number of layers.

Many keyboards in this segment mainly rely on PORON foam only.

The Core75 also uses a 5-layer dampening system, but the thick, dense silicone pad makes a difference.

Compared to lightweight foam, silicone adds more mass to the board, helps reduce unwanted case resonance and vibration, and contributes to a deeper, fuller sound.

Easier Disassembly

This is a small detail, but anyone who has opened enough keyboards knows how important it can be.

Many keyboards use aggressive clip-based construction.

The Core75 mainly uses screws, with only two side clips allowing for easier disassembly.

A Completely Redesigned URX HUB

Our web software has also been redesigned.

The Core75 will be supported through the new URX HUB, giving users a simpler way to configure the keyboard without installing software.

The updated HUB will go live within the next couple of days.

We have also redesigned the UI for the Core68 HE as part of the same update.

Full Specs, Images and Feature Explanations

There is a lot more to the Core75 than we can reasonably fit into one Reddit post.

So we have also made a dedicated wiki with more images, detailed explanations and additional information about the keyboard. We have also attached spec sheet in the images, feel free to read.

You can visit it here: wiki.urx.co.in

The URX Core75 launches at: ₹4,799

We would love to hear what you think.
