Tea Time: Wedding Gossip Part2
Check out the Part 1 for context here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AajMereSaathYeHua/s/8zX6NdVis4
TLDR is at the end but will only make sense if you have context from Part1.
So after the wedding was done, now it was turn of groom's side to throw the dinner reception where mostly the groom's side of relatives are present. We obviously invite the bride's side too but usually only a handful of people come, which is also mostly bridesmaids(saalis).
So, from the bride's side the OG saali came with 2-3 other saalis and 4-5 boys who looked to be between 20-30yrs of age. Out of those boys, 2-3 came already drunk to the event.
So almost at the beginning of the event, when the newlyweds were sitting on the stage and people were coming and getting their pictures clicked, those boys were having some arguments with the photographer when it was their turn to get their pictures clicked. Don't know what the exact issue was but my cousin (the groom) clocked that and did not react on it at the moment.
Now fast forward to a little later in the night when the relatives who lived far away or the non-close people left after eating and only the close family members remained, we started dancing to the DJ and on one corner of the dancing stage, those 3 drunk boys were also grooving.
Now obviously anyone can tell they are drunk by the way they were moving but we didn't mind as it is a celebratory function and not everyone will be sober. As long as they are not creating any scene, it is all good. But a scene they did create after all.
We were about 15-20 people of the family dancing in a circle both ladies and gents mix. One of them drunk boy got up to the DJ and told him to play a song which we later found out was not so family friendly.
The DJ obviously refused coz ladies might get uncomfortable by that and called one of our cousins and told him that this drunk guy is asking so and so song to be played.
My cousin told them that we have ladies here as well so don't ask such songs to be played, and he is a little hothead so he also told them that you guys are obviously very drunk so wrap it up and get away from here.
Instead of understanding gravity of the situation (they were 3 and we were 10-15 hatte katte boys), the one who was the most drunk started showing slight aggression towards my cousin as if he will charge on him and also kept saying to my cousin - how did you say that to me to go away from here.
An argument started between my cousin and that drunk guy, DJ stopped playing and the family started gathering around. The one who was less drunk (lets call him L) looked sensible and knew they do not stand a chance, so he started grabbing the more drunk guy (lets call him M) to take him away.
I told him L to take M with him and get lost from here. This is a family event; we don't want any nuisance. M was still trying to get free from L's grip and charge on my cousin. He had lost all his senses it seemed.
Anyways, they went away to the parking lot that was behind the main hall where everybody was gathering now and the road led from parking lot to main hall to the exit.
As he was going away, he still was looking back again and agin as if he were really gonna do something bad to my cousin.
As they went away, the entire family gathering to discuss what just happened. We knew he was too drunk, so there was no point arguing and stretching this thing, it's better if they go away for now and we'll handle this thing later next day. We were nonchalant.
In the parking lot, someone from the venue told us later, that first of all, M did not want to go away without a fight and wanted to come back to the main hall. But then got inside the car and sat at the driver seat with the intent so ramming the car itself onto us since the exit was from where we were standing.
But later L shifted M on the passenger seat and started driving the car away. The car stopped just before the exit and where we all were standing and M was shouting slurs at my cousins. Now my cousins also started moving towards the car and saying mild slurs, coz family was there.
I don't know why the driver stopped the car and was not moving away anymore. Maybe his ego got hurt too. Anyways, since they had made up their mind and were not going away, I told my cousin- okay they really wanna do this then let's do this. Get them out of the car.
My cousin is really strong and wears a kada (steel bracelet). He held that in his hand and threw a couple punches on the driver side window and shattered its glass. Unlocked the car and flicked open the driver's door to drag the driver out.
As this was going on at one end, on the other side of the car, the groom came running as he saw a crowd gathered around a car when he was coming out of the washroom. He was already annoyed at the boys due to the Photographer incident, so he straight up opened the passenger door now that the car was unlocked and held M by his collar. This scared him and he also stopped cussing now. This all was happening really fast.
Now from the driver's side, my cousin's mom stopped him from escalating this further and from the passenger side, the new bride stopped the groom. L and M both closed their door and skedaddled away.
After we rolled away, more people from our family came there, who were away probably drinking in hiding. They asked us what happened and were all like- find out whose car was this, how can they just cause nuisance at our family event. Not gonna let this slide and have to do something about it now.
The hothead cousin told his mother she shouldn't have stopped him and he was like- we now gonna beat them tonight itself.
As this was going on, the leftover people from bride side were also shook. The OG saali started crying and was like- we don't know what happened to them, they are not like this. We'll talk to them; you guys please don't do anything rash.
Not gonna lie, watching her cry was a little satisfying for us all cousins considering what she did on the wedding day. Karma is a bitch moment for her.
Anyways, long story short, the groom's father said it's fine and that they were from bride's side and not some strangers so let this go. Let's not ruin our night over such a thing, we talk to them later. Nobody is going to beat anybody. So, in the spirit of wedding celebrations and to not let some drunk idiots ruin our event, we let that go, sat at the roundtable, enjoyed yum yum food and went home.
How was the tea. Let me know your thoughts or questions. Thanks for reading!

TL;DR: A few drunk guys from the bride’s side picked a fight at the reception, got aggressive, and allegedly tried to use their car to intimidate the groom’s family. Things nearly turned violent, with a car window getting smashed, but everyone was stopped before it escalated further. Groom’s dad ultimately told everyone to let it go.
