I just received a random text from a person named Riley and using my name as well asking if I’d be up to grabbing dinner or doing nails this week, but I’ve never met this person before, and I have never added their contact info into my phone as far as I know.

Can scammers add a contact to your phone and text you to get you to trust them? Is this a scam if I interact with them at all? The contact has a first and last name and an area code from Houston, TX (I live in a completely different state). I’ve searched all socials for a person with this name for mutuals and nothing. So weird…
