So I was at my cousin’s place last weekend and noticed this interesting little setup on his desk — a small ceramic burner, a few glass dropper bottles, and the whole room had this mix of blueberry ice cream and eucalyptus going on. He said it was just an “herbal liquid mix for aroma,” nothing meant for vaping or consuming.

That got me curious, so later I ended up going down a bit of a rabbit hole reading about liquid Kräutermischungen and [c-liquid](https://www.expresshighs.com/de/liquid-krautermischungen-c-liquid) style aroma blends. There are tons of options with scents like banana, icy menthol, etc. What confused me though is that a lot of these sites hype them up as relaxing or mood-enhancing, but at the same time have big “NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION” warnings everywhere… kinda contradictory.

I live in a small studio with pretty bad ventilation and a sensitive smoke detector, so now I’m wondering if using something like this is even a good idea. Last thing I want is to accidentally trigger an alarm or make the air uncomfortable to breathe.

Has anyone here used these strictly as room fragrance? How strong does the smell actually get, and are there safer ways to use them (like diffusers vs burners)? Also curious if there are any red flags to watch out for when choosing products, since some of these brands look a bit questionable.

I got a new iPad! But I couldn’t decide between Zugu (50bucks) and ESR(43bucks), so I ended up buying both. I tried them at home, and here’s what I think.

Angles:

Zugu supports 8 angles in landscape mode, while ESR supports 9. The difference isn’t huge, but ESR can also switch to portrait mode, which Zugu can’t.

Weight:

ESR Shift is around but just under 400g, and the Zugu is 360g. My scale isn’t super precise, so I can’t guarantee the exact numbers, but the difference between them should be no more than about 40g. One thing worth mentioning is that the ESR lets you remove the stand. Once the stand is off, it becomes a really lightweight case without a cover, which is pretty convenient for motion-based games.

Magnetism:

Both can stick to metal surfaces like a fridge. Zugu attaches with the stand still on. ESR could sticks after you detach the stand.

Stability:

Both are equally stable imo. I’ve used them on my lap, bed, and sofa for a while, and the stands haven’t toppled over at all.

Protection:

I wouldn’t dare drop my iPad, even with a case, so I didn’t actually test this. But I’d guess there’s not much difference, both are fairly tough cases.

I returned the Zugu one in the end. I went with the ESR because of the extra support angles and the removable stand design, and it’s also cheaper. But overall, I think Zugu is still a really good case. If you want something lighter and don’t play motion-based games, Zugu is still a solid choice. Otherwise, especially for drawing or writing, I think ESR’s low-angle support is better suited for that.
