I hate having to ask questions like this, but I’ve had some unpleasant experiences running in the evenings lately (got followed/chased, not fun…)

How safe is running/cycling along the canal from Maryhill to Bowling? I’d love to use it for training but I’m a bit put off by parts of it being quite isolated, and I know some parts of the canal in Edinburgh are best avoided.
