Avoid buying from RKD
Last month, April 28, I bought an iPhone 15 base from RKD Gadget Shop, Dasma branch. Was planning to get a brand new one but they said they were out of stock and only had secondhand ones in their inventory. I needed a new phone badly na talaga so sumige na ko since mukha naman silang trusted and since 2013 pa sila nag reresell. I checked the phone, okay yung settings. Eto alam ko mali ko talaga ko—100% yung battery health and it had over 900 cycles. That was an immediate red flag but I was too blinded by my excitement to care.
Fast forward, isang week nalang halos yung natira sa 30-day replacement warranty ko so I checked the battery health. Putcha, 97% nalang siya in less than a month of use. I checked agad sa 3utools, boosted nga. 80% yung real battery. I messaged the page and they were cooperative naman in getting the unit replaced. Kaya lang, wala pa sila available na same unit so I had to wait a few days pa. Saktong 30th day ako nakareceive ng update na may dumating na silang stock sa Dasma branch kaso I had a final exam nun so sabi ko nalang kinabukasan ako pupunta. Nag tanong pa ko kung tatanggapin nila yung replacement kahit lagpas ng one day yung warranty. Sabi naman nila pasok pa raw sa warranty be they took note na when I first messaged a week ago.
So ayun, I got it replaced kanina. Nung una, ayaw pa sakin bigay yung replacement kasi nga lagpas na raw one day kahit pinakita ko yung convo ko with their page. They had to ask the owner daw kung pwede pa. In the end, the replacement was validated. Hindi ko na nakita yung settings nung replacement unit kasi nireset agad para maset up ko Apple ID ko. Pa-close na sila nung nakapunta ko kasi galing pa ko sa school so I didn’t have enough time to set it up sa shop.
Pag uwi ko after setting up the phone, I checked the battery again sa 3utools. Putcha boosted na naman. 100%, 700 cycles. 88% ang totoong battery health. So ano, lahat ng phones na binebenta nila boosted??
Before any of you come at me and say may kasalan din ako—alam ko na yun. Alam ko na anong mali kong nagawa and you’ll gain nothing from repeating it to me. This post is just a warning to everyone to take RKD off your lists kung mag cacanvas kayo for a phone.
