Booksssssssssss (need help narrowing down my choice for summer reading!)

Hi hi!

I have like 11 10 books off my schools list I'm interested in.. but IDK where to start with choosing! If you've read any of these, or if you haven't and could just narrow it down for me based off whatever the heck you want, I would love advice please!

tanku if u help!

to clarify, there were like 50 on my school's list, I'm just having trouble choosing between some ones that interest me

Here they are:

  • American Spirits: The Famous Fox Sisters and the Mysterious Fad That Haunted a Nation by Barb Rosenstock (title says enough)
  • Blackout by: T. Jackson, D. Clayton, N. Stone, A. Thomas, A, Woodfolk, and N. Yoon ("The book contains six interlinked stories about Black teen love during a power outage in New York City." -Wikipedia)
  • The Last Cuentista by Donna Barba Higuera (girl in ET setting has to preserve human history, Earth, and human cultures by herself. what she doesn't put on the record and share, nobody else ever can.)
  • Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van (octopus)
  • Scythe by Neal Shusterman (In a utopian world, how do population numbers remain reasonable? "To keep in control of the population, selected people called Scythes kill a certain number of people every year; the act is called gleaning. 16-year-old Citra Terranova and Rowan Damisch" must apprentice as Scythes, and the personal stakes are high. (quote from Wikipedia) Also the internet tells me there is queerness in this series, a plus for me. I generally prefer non-series, or at least books that don't leave you meh unless you read the next.)
  • Me (Moth) by Amber McBride  (this: https://youngwritersproject.org/explore/visual-art/me-moth-book-poster (which u can find if u don't trust links by search "Me (Moth) Poster Project"). (Also, seems to have >!non-queer romance!< in it; not inherently bad, but >!romance !<in general makes me nervous, let alone >!cis-het romance!<. I know that sounds very morally ehh w/out a good explanation.. but Idk why.. or can't find the words rn..))
  • Circe by Madeline Miller (mythology, long)
  • The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Volume I: The Pox Party by M.T. Anderson (hist fic, which I love. Might want a lighter vibe for this summer? idk)
  • Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman (mc is schizophrenic HS student, would love to learn a bit about that experience, also nervous about reliability of accurate portrayal since it's written by the parent of a schizophrenic kid who is not schizophrenic)
  • Running by Natalia Sylvester (mc's dad is running for USA pres, didn't seem so interesting to me so idk much)
