torn between two programs in college
Hello! I’m currently in between two programs for college. I’ve been interested in medicine ever since. Watched dramas, movies and series. It’s always what I‘ve wanted and believed in. However, my chosen program (Medtech), costs 61 k for tuition fee, in a school near my place. Although they have this different ways to pay the tf (ex. paying this amount for this month and this for the next), my mother is widowed and I have 8 siblings. Though, 3 of them have already graduated, they still sometimes depend on my mom for financial support. But despite it, I really want to go to med.
I looked into scholarships, I didn’t qualify for most of it. However, I got accepted into state univ which is PUP and a local college.
This is where the other program appeared. I don’t want to go to PUP. The local college offers me my first program choice available there which is BSIT. Of course, no tuition. I have my interests in tech but I don’t make it my primary focus.
My mom, although she constantly ask me if I really want med, I know it’s probably way over our budget.
Now, I’m contemplating which to choose. This is already an old, cliché question. Passion vs practicality. I’d really like to ask for some outside perspective.
