[ALL] [LISR] Did anyone else actually enjoy Reunion?

SPOILER WARNING: LIFE IS STRANGE & REUNION
FULL GAMES AND ENDING DISCUSSION

………

Okay so I’ve been a massive fan of Life is Strange literally since the first one released and it’s one of my all time favourite game series and comfort series, which I’ve played every one.

I have been holding off on joining this subreddit for a little while as I’ve been playing through Reunion on stream and didn’t want to see any spoilers. I finished the game last night and thought I’d finally join this subreddit, but am just seeing a lot of negativity around Reunion.

I personally enjoyed the ending and wanted to give my thoughts around it.

The game itself I found a lot of moments to enjoy, I really liked the entire concept and execution of Chloe being stuck in the two timelines and the glitching of seeing things from one timeline and the other and how much it messed with her, that I thought was genuinely really interesting. I loved the dynamic between the iconic trio Max Chloe and Moses, and thought they really had a great group dynamic that worked.

I’ll be honest, some of the Abraxas stuff was a bit lost on me - in the sense I feel like it should have had a darker twist with some bits (similar to LiS 1). Like, how much cooler of a plot twist would it have been if it wasn’t an accidental death that happened at the club, but was an actual sacrifice, or that’s even like a regular ritual with members or something like that. It would have been darker and more intense I feel.

The entirety of Max and Chloe’s dynamic I was obsessed with. They were the same old cringy cute gay dorks I loved from the first one all those years ago, and I think the way they interacted felt really natural and earned. Chloe’s character design is perfect and a really good take on how she looks a decade later.

I was a bit concerned it would feel too much like they threw Chloe in just for a cash grab and to play on nostalgia but I think the story they put together really worked as a good continuation of them both.

As for the ending, I genuinely really enjoyed it. I’ll be honest, I kinda goofed up a bit and I didn’t manage to stop the fire and had a couple deaths happen, but I still really enjoyed it. I loved the callback to Kate’s jump scene from LiS with Chloe falling off the roof and Max having to use time to get to her before she hits the ground, and I genuinely am happy with the fact we’re finally presented with a happy ending - no real deaths (I was most terrified for either Chloe or Moses to die the entire time) and think it’s a cute conclusion.

In the end I chose to burn the photo, and after seeing the alternative I do prefer my choice over that personally - and the flashbacks montage at the end showing max and Chloe’s life together absolutely broke my lil gay heart

Anyway that’s enough rambling from me, I’ve just seen nothing but negativity and wanted to actually share what I liked about it! Does it beat the original? Obviously not, but do I think it’s up there and pretty good, and better than Double Exposure? Without a doubt.

What do you lot think? Are there any of you who also really enjoyed it? Let me know :D

So I’ve streamed for 5 years now consistently multiple times a week and have loved it so much. Got about 3k followers now but in the past two years my channel has died down a lot so now it’s just a few regulars.

I want to really do everything I can to kickstart things again so as of today I’m making a strong and impactful return to streams!!

I wanna know if anyone has any good advice in terms of growing viewership or doing well? And also seeing if anyone would be interested in maybe being streamer friends cause it’s quite a lonely place sometimes!

I’m 25, transfem and my streams mostly consist of game dev content or horror gaming/deep story games!

My top games are:

- Life is Strange

- Five Nights at Freddy’s

- Resident Evil

I’d probably say!

Hope to meet some chill people!!
