So context: I’m a high school senior and when I first started at this school they ask parents if photos of their student are allowed to be posted on school social media accounts. My parents and I were in complete agreement that we didn’t want that (both because it makes me uncomfortable to have my face on social media and for other reasons that I don’t really want to share)

The social media manager (whose also the photographer, idk what her job title is) has been very unpleasant to me all through my high school and makes a really big fuss every time I say I’m not allowed to have my photo up and I’ve had to ask her to take things down a couple of times because she took photos of me I wasn’t aware of and my friends told me they put it on the internet (they always have, it just bothers me since I’ve worked with younger kids at a couple jobs and they always have a list of people you can’t take pictures of and we always double check it before posting. From how many times I’ve been on my school’s social media, it doesn’t seem like they do that. For what I did there were a significantly smaller number of kids than at my school so if anyone knows how it works with larger numbers of students I would appreciate that)

Anyway, there was a video of my class doing an end of year celebration thing (we were walking around and apparently someone was filming it) and there’s a bit where I’m right spank in the middle focus of the video and one of the only people in the frame (along with my friend who told me about me being in it) like that bit is very purposefully *of us*

My dilemma: I’ve already had my last day of classes and exams, I’ll only be coming back to get my cap and gown before I graduate AND I don’t want to make a fuss since in all the other parts of the video, it’s other seniors and not me. Like I’m only in that one bit and I know other people in my class like that they’re in the video (since it is kinda sweet) BUT I feel incredibly uncomfortable having my face on the school’s social media account (for multiple reasons) and I just don’t want it there.

From what I can think of, I have four options, don’t say anything, ask them to take it down (I don’t want to do that since it feels selfish and others are in the video that probably like it), ask them to somehow cut the bit with me out (ideally this is what I’d want but idk how feasible it is since it’s already posted), or tell them I don’t like it but not ask them to take it down (which idk, just seems like complaining for complaining sake)

Sorry this was long idk what to do.

Edit: guys I don’t want to take legal action against my school, like that’s completely out of the question (please stop suggesting it), I just want to know if I should talk to them or not
