A little continuation of my30th Anniversary series! ✨

After all the love and support around my Ash’s Greninja card, I wanted to keep the momentum going and create a few more cards inspired by the 30th Anniversary, with my own personal twist.

Here’s the latest one: Dragonite. 💙

I hope you’ll like it as much as I enjoyed making it!

[OC] Ash's Greninja

[Pokemon] Ash's Greninja

I’ve always wanted a proper card for Ash-Greninja…

but somehow, we never got one.

So I decided to draw my own version as a little tribute to one of my favorite Pokémon forms.

And since it’s the 30th anniversary, I thought it was the perfect time to make it feel extra special.

Ash-Greninja always felt a little like a Mega Evolution before Mega Evolutions came back… so I wanted this card to reflect that. 🥷🔥

[Pokemon] Bubble Lugia textured ✨️

A few people asked to see more of my textured Bubble Lugia card, so here it is!

I thought it might be interesting to share a bit of the process, from the preparation files to the finished print.

The slides show:

  • The final card
  • The texture mask
  • The white mask
  • A new holo pattern (Sun and Moon era)
  • A few close-up shots of the finished result

Everything was designed and printed by me. I'd love to hear what you think or answer any questions about the process!

Next up is my Bubble Mewtwo. I'm reworking the texture and can't wait to show the final result!

For those wondering: this isn't a hobby printer. Printing is my profession, and I use a Roland VersaOBJECT LO-640 UV printer, which makes this level of finish possible. The challenge is in the artwork and print preparation :)

[Pokemon] I'm mixed about this texture... Too much or just enough?

I've been experimenting with new UV texture techniques for my custom cards, trying to give them more depth and a more premium feel.

The problem is... I can't tell if I crossed the line.

Part of me likes how rich and detailed it looks, but another part thinks I may have added too much texture and made the artwork harder to read.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback. Does it feel overtextured, or does it work?

[Pokemon] Bubble Ho-Oh textured ✨️

I reworked my custom Ho-Oh ex by adding a dedicated spot UV varnish layer to give the artwork more depth and contrast.

The glossy areas aren't random—they're designed as a separate vector mask in Illustrator, allowing specific elements of the artwork to catch the light while the rest remains matte. The final slide shows the actual varnish layer used during production.

I really enjoy the technical side of making custom cards, and adding selective finishes like this helps bring the artwork to life.

It still takes forever to design, though. 😅

Update Bubble Rayquaza

At the request of some of you, I also reworked my Bubble Rayquaza 🙆🏼‍♂️

I kept the solar pattern around the bubble as for Latias & Latios!

What do you think? 🙌🏻

Recent varnish finish tests – thoughts?

I've been experimenting with different varnish finishes on my latest custom cards and wanted to share the results 🙋🏼‍♂️

I'm still refining the process, so I'd love to get some feedback. What works well? What could be improved? Any suggestions are welcome 🫠

For anyone curious about the production process, these were printed using a VersaOBJECT LO-640 UV printer 🖨️
