Part 2 - Subaru accepted my lemon law claim

Part 2 - Subaru accepted my lemon law claim

For part 1, go to my last post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Outback_Wilderness/s/LmN49lNc4O

Subaru accepted my claim and offered to reimburse me for my vehicle + downpayment/payments made so far (I’m financing). Some minot charge for usage fee - give or take -$1,400.

However, they said that I can also sign a settlement for $7,500 and keep the car under warranty and all. I just can’t claim lemon law if it happens again.

Honestly, the issue was super dumb and could’ve been fixed sooner had they been better with their logistics. It’s not one of those problems that the dealer/manufacturer can’t seem to pinpoint and fix. I know the car is fine now.

I love this car, and I might just go with the settlement. Can I negotiate up? Don’t want to have this get withdrawn.

UPDATE: Thank you to those that found my first post - i did not realize my profile was hidden. Lazy of me. My bad. I took the settlement and it had a cap at $7,500 by state law.

In March 3 it gave me the xmas tree (mostly CEL + RAB light). Turned out to be the “accelerator harness.”

Took it immediately to the dealer. The fix was easy but would take time for the part to arrive and for a specific certified tech to work on it because the only tech around was available mid-April #fml

They tried an easy fix around it to see if that would solve it without having to order the part. Car was in the shop for a week. They gave me a loaner.

Picked it up. They thought they had fixed it. Drove it for a day. Next day CEL/lights came on

Towed it back to the dealership.

Spent 1 1/2 mo there.

Finally have it back.

Add’l info: because it was in and out twice for the same issue, I went ahead and filed for Lemon Law. Will see. Also trying to get one or two months of car payment refund.
