Here's me continuing to paint protagonist mechs from the novels I read ("Without Question" this time), and surprisingly getting better at freehanding Jade Falcon insignia. Hope you enjoy.
So I have this 3D model of a Turkina, and as far as I understand it's neither MWO/MW5 nor close to the official design, new or old. I dig it, but I now I'm asking myself which part you'd identify as the cockpit "glass"/pane(s). I'm undecided what I'd like best and curious if there's a consensus/where it lands.
1: those three lowered panels (official model has 3 "windows" too?)
2: that protruding central part would make a lot of sense, and it's surrounded by two hinge-looking parts (so possibly poly)
3: that whole big horizontal front panel (would be cool but unlikely, it's barely even angled and just HUGE)
4: a horizontal "slit" hidden between those massive pads, AT-AT style, which probably would make most sense realistically, but would be VERY narrow and disappointing to paint
Please advise, and thank you.
I know for a fact I'm not the only one in the grander scheme of people painting BattleMechs, but I think there's value in going back to fix our mistakes, grow and change with them—so here's my Thor (Summoner) refit.
Deep into reading "Without Question" by Bryan Young and painting Jade Falcons every day until >!Jiyi Chistu comes back alive!<, I don't know how they became my people but here we are.
Something, something, coolant truck, long face. Here's the glorious rest of the Second Star League Assault Lance, which was a joy to paint.
Argus AGS-4D, Major Annette McHenry, Royal Black Watch Regiment
Daishi (Dire Wolf) "Prometheus", First Prince Victor Steiner-Davion; Commander, Star League Expeditionary Force, Operation Bulldog
Coolant Truck 135-K "Lifesaver"
A fun misprint salvage job that was way more of a joy to work on than I expected.
That completely gold-paneled monstrosity sure is one of the paint jobs of all time.
Been a while since I painted any Cyberpunk RED CZ, but these are still a joy to paint. If you're into it I'll share the Trauma Team I've painted early this year, too. Hope you enjoy 'em, choombas!
That was a fun one-off from the Third Star League Assault Lance to go with the First Lord. I'm not free-handing more of this unit insignia, so I hope you enjoy this one!
CGL Timber Wolf chassis with 3d printed parts and one of my favorite pieces I did, but neglected to post before. The color scheme is super satisfying to paint and I've had some fun with the base, hope you enjoy.
Not the most fun I've had painting up a lance, not gonna lie, but I like the scheme and I'm getting a hang of it enough to think about expanding it to some support units (would sure look good on tanks and air units) plus another four 'mechs, round out the selection with a couple little bastards and an assault.
Hope you like them.
Still my favorite Clan paint scheme, though I've got to admit that I rushed the paint work on those, especially when compared to my first Delta Galaxy Star. I enjoy the result nonetheless, it's fun to have a Kodiak and that weird Nova D conversion ready for action.
I've painted these Ghost Bears to complement my previously posted Jade Falcons led by my interpretation of Khan Jiyi Chistu's Gyrfalcon according to the cover art of Bryan Young's novel "A Question of Survival", so I'm not sure what Galaxy they actually belong to. Apart from Hall's Ursus II, they ended up a bit of a dump for my IlClan-era appropriate leftover clan mechs. Hope you like them!
