been running the business for a few years now and the setup that made sense when it was just me and a handful of clients is starting to show its limits. the reporting side of things is where it's feeling most painful. i can pull numbers but i can't get a clear picture of what's actually happening across the business without piecing things together manually which is taking longer than it should.

payroll has also gotten more complicated as the team has grown and having it separate from everything else means reconciling things that should just talk to each other automatically. i'm not looking for something overly complex but i need something that gives me proper visibility into how the business is performing without having to build the reports myself every time. what people here moved to when they hit this point and whether the upgrade actually felt worth it once you were properly set up.

we're a small practice and have been putting off a proper move to cloud for longer than i'd like to admit. client collaboration is getting messier and the time spent chasing documents and reconciling things manually is starting to feel like a real problem. the bit i keep getting stuck on is migration because we have years of data across different clients on different systems and the idea of moving everything cleanly without something falling through is what keeps pushing the decision back.

anyone here gone through a full practice migration to cloud recently and come out the other side feeling like it genuinely improved day to day workflow? would love to hear and whether the client collaboration side lived up to what was promised.
