Was my wall painted with the color we chose? Am I getting gas lit?

Hello trade painters. First time home buyer here. We hired the company to paint the interior walls in the house. The job finished up yesterday and I noticed the accent wall color looked different than I had imagined it. Then I found a paint can in the garage. It Caught my eye because it was green but it was not the green of our accent wall. It was green that we don't have anywhere in the house. So I found the paint swatch that we chose from the paint store and held it up against the accent wall and it looks totally different. I sent this photo to my painters and this was their response:

"No . Your wall was painted with the exact paint that you choose. We carry some paint can from other projects and sometimes we used it as a bottom base to either sand some wood/ drywall pieces or as a support to spray it."

Is this bull crap? Any theories on what is going on here?

I am a new home owner and I had a Plummer come to take a look at a few minor items that were flagged in our general inspection. He pointed out that our water heater flue runs horizontally, when it should be running at an upward angle. He suggested that we basically replace the water heater (installed in 2019) due to this issue and it maybe also not being flushed since it was installed (IDK if the past owner did this). He said if we want to keep the water heater we need to lower it (It is currently attached to a beam and on top of a short mount) so that that flue can run at an upward angle. But this smells fishy to me. Wouldn't it be easier to just have the flue connect to the vertical exhaust at a higher point? It seems like it would be easy to cut a new hole and adjust the ducting. My feeling with this guy is he is just trying to upsell me with more expensive repairs then are necessary. What do you all think?
