Hi! Please let me know if I’m posting to the wrong subreddit.
We moved into our house 3 years ago and it came with a dishwasher. We estimate it’s about 5/6 years old. As of recent, it will randomly turn off and resetting the circuit breaker fixes it. Last week, the same thing happened, but turning off the circuit breaker did not fix it. We tried again today by leaving the circuit breaker off for about an hour and then the dishwasher did start working again.
We did go out to Lowe’s and placed an order for a new dishwasher, installation, and disposal of the old dishwasher for about $1000. My question for you is, is there any chance it’s worth having someone over to check it out and repair the potential issue, or should we just stick with the initial plan and replace the dishwasher?
We budgeted for situations like this, but if it ends up being a $200 or $300 fix and allows us to continue using this dishwasher for another year or two, that feels like it could be worth it.
Current dishwasher is GE. New one is Bosch.
I’ve fostered 2 times previously (4 total cats) and failed all of those times. My brother and his wife adopted my first two fosters and I kept the other two fosters. (I know the first two aren’t technically a fail but I knew I’d get to keep seeing them so the handoff wasn’t nearly as difficult)
But this time!? I fostered to completion and handed them back off for neutering/spaying and adoption. It’s so bittersweet but I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity, I’m a better person because of this experience, and I cannot wait to do it again.
Now vs when they first came home with me ❤️
We bought a house from 1900 with beautiful pine floors but the prior owners covered a few spaces with subfloor and carpet. We’ve removed most of it with no issue, but now we’re noticing this subfloor in one area looks to have potentially been glued on or stapled on. Is this normal?
*editing to clarify that this is JUST the subfloor. We’re in the process of exposing the pine underneath. See picture of another room where we did remove all the subfloor in the comments.*
*second edit: I did not phrase this post well! I’m under caffeinated and my brain is still starting up. There is 100% pine floor underneath the subfloor/plywood that was installed directly under the carpet we removed*
