If I pay for Superwhisper Pro, do I still need to pay API costs for AI cleanup models?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to understand how pricing works with Superwhisper Pro before subscribing.

If I pay for the Pro plan, will I be able to use the AI models for transcript cleanup/post-processing without paying extra API costs? Or do I still need to connect my own API keys (like OpenAI/Anthropic/Groq, etc.) and pay separately for usage?

Basically, I want to know if the cleanup models are included in Pro, or if Pro only unlocks features while API costs are still on me.

Would love to hear from anyone currently using Superwhisper Pro. Thanks!

What is the best Dictation app with AI cleanup for macOS?

I've been doing a lot of research and saw many people on Reddit talking about Whispr Flow, Superwhisper, VoiceInk and Fluid Voice, among others. Of those, I only tested Whispr Flow, Superwhisper, and Fluid Voice.

I liked Whispr Flow a lot, but the fact that it only runs with cloud models bothered me, and I didn't like that there's no lifetime purchase. When I looked at Superwhisper, I liked it more because it offers more customization, and I really enjoy being able to customize. I also like that I can use local models for better privacy. I'm just wondering whether it's really worth paying $250 to own it forever, because I really don't want subscriptions but VoiceInk is $25 lifetime

As a final test, I tried Fluid Voice, which is free and open source. However, I found its interface quite complicated—not as intuitive as the other two—and I'm not sure what the practical differences are.

My questions:

- Do you use Superwhisper for free? If so, which models and settings do you use?

- How would Fluid Voice be better than Superwhisper (if I can manage to use it for free)?

- Is there any other option you've used that provides AI cleanup without requiring an API key, so I can have a truly zero-cost experience?

I want to delete media received from WhatsApp (delete it from the gallery and also from the WhatsApp backup) but not delete the message in which that media came, meaning I want to keep that “preview” of the media with the download icon.

I’ll give an example: this is a conversation from 2018. I no longer have the photo that was sent in this chat (so I assume it doesn’t take up space in the WhatsApp backup), but at least I have that preview with the blurred image so I can remember the context.

I’ve already done several tests where I tried deleting it through WhatsApp’s storage manager, but it deletes the message as well.

Does anyone know the right way to do this?
