Hi everyone. I posted here before about my unauthorized transaction of PHP 34,499.34 to a hotel in India. MariBank denied my dispute and claimed it was a "card present" transaction even though I was in Davao.

I wanted to share that today — May 18, 2026 — MariBank finally refunded my money.

*It took 40 days of stress, follow-ups, and frustration. But I did not give up.*

What worked for me:

-Reported immediately

-Contacted the hotel directly (they confirmed no transaction)

-Filed a BSP complaint

-Posted on Reddit

-Media picked it up (RadarPH) in facebook

-Created an PDF documentation from the very beginning with all proofs, screenshots, and timeline of everything I did

Just to be clear I will still be using MariBank. I already ordered a new physical card. But now I have learned my lesson. I will always lock my card when not in use and use the safety features. I suggest everyone do the same.

And to the Agent from Maribank She was very professional, kept me updated from time to time, and reassured me throughout the process. Thank you for your help.

If you are in the same situation: document everything, escalate to BSP, and don't stop following up.

Hi everyone. Update on my unauthorized transaction post.

MariBank just sent me this email denying my dispute. Here's what happened:

PHP 34,499.34 charged to my MariBank debit card

Merchant: PRIDE PLAZA HOTEL NEW DELHI, IND

Date: April 9, 2026

No OTP was sent to me

What I did:

Reported it immediately

Contacted the hotel — they confirmed in writing they have NO record of the transaction

Filed a BSP complaint

Then they said the transaction was "card present" so it's not eligible for chargeback. They also said "information required to process a transaction is meant to be kept by you alone" Then they closed my case.

My problem with their decision is, I was in Davao City when the transaction happened in New Delhi, India

My physical card was in my possession

The hotel itself said they have no transaction under my reference number

No OTP was sent

How can this be a "card present" transaction???

Any advice would help. This is 34k hindi biro

Hi everyone. Posting here to ask for advice and also to see if anyone else experienced the same thing. April 9, 2026, may biglang nagreflect sa MariBank app ko na PHP 34,499.34 debit transaction. Ang merchant "PRIDE PLAZA HOTEL NEW DELHI, IND." Hindi ako nagbook ng hotel sa India. Hindi ako nakatanggap ng kahit anong OTP. Wala akong shinare na PIN or password kahit kanino.

What I did so far:

Nireport ko agad sa MariBank on the same day ng transaction, which was April 9. Nireport ko din sa BSP at may case number na ako. Kinontact ko mismo yung hotel sa India, at sumagot ang Duty Manager nila na WALA raw silang record ng transaction na yun walang booking at walang payment na natanggap sa kanila. ngayon posted na yung transaction sa account ko as of April 14, 2026. Hindi na "Posting in Progress" posted na talaga.

May nakaexperience na ba ng unauthorized transaction sa MariBank na nabawi yung pera? Gaano katagal? Ano ginawa nyo para mapabilis?

Gusto ko lang malaman kung ganto ba katagal (60-120days) ng process ng investigation if may fraud involved po sa account ko?
