Foil Proxies Question

Hey all!

I have a question regarding foil proxies. I've been running into issues with them being either too thick, or too flimsy and I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck narrowing down that sweet spot. My current attempted processes are as follows:

Too flimsy:

A4 Koala Holographic Sticker Paper

200 GSM 54lb Uinkit double sided glossy photo paper

3mil Uinkit Glossy Laminate (only on the front)

Too thick:

A4 Koala Holographic Sticker Paper

160GSM 42lb Koala Double Sided Glossy Photo Paper

2.7mil/72mic Amazon Basics Glossy Laminate

I am wondering if anyone has tested the thickness and rigidity of

A4 Koala Holographic Sticker Paper

140gsm 37lb Koala Double Sided Photo Paper

2.7mil/72mic Amazon Basics Glossy Laminate

I print custom backs for the cards and have a method for alignment, which is why I'm using the glossy photo paper. I addition to that I finish the cards with a Krylon Satin Clear Coat spray to reduce glare and plastic feel.

Today's test ended up being just over 0.4mm, which is definitely too thick. Given that the rigidity is essentially coming from the lamination, I don't mind going lighter weight on the photopaper, I'm just not sure what that sweet spot looks like.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I finally found a copy of these! So stoked!

After 2 weeks of searching in southern Ontario, I finally found Pragmata and RE Generation! Felt like they were sold out everywhere. Recently got my Switch 2, about 2 weeks ago, and now have more than Mario Kart World to play! It would have been nice for the games to be on the cartridge, but I know thats a hot topic. I'll survive tho lol.
