Hi, kind of a beginner here. Why is the conservative movement in the US so pro-gun?

lirc Marx said the workers should be armed so as to have means of opposing the ruling class, and Albania under Hoxha saw most of the civilian population armed. I read an excerpt of an anecdote that recounted how Khrushchev was shocked that ordinary people were armed, to which Hoxha said '... The people have every right to turn their guns against us if we do not do our job well.'

If the arming of workers is a measure of the workers' political power, why is it so propagated within the right? Please excuse my lack of knowledge and correct me if I am wrong, thank you 🥲 (I also posted this on r/socialism accidentally but I hope I can get some answers from both subs)

Hi, incoming freshman, I took counseling 1 to qualify for promise plus, and within the coursework there was some information regarding a mandatory orientation from August 17-20. I only wrote down in my notes 'Orientation August 17-20', but I can't seem to find any information on it now that I'm looking for the exact time. I already completed all the registration(NSO, AQ etc) and course-signup.

Hello, I recently just graduated high school so I'm not really familiar with some things. My History 7 course for summer ended today, and I finished with a 90.0%, On my prof's syllabus it said that anything above a 90 would be an A, but I was wondering if professors themselves could override the A- = 3.7 / A = 4.0 GPA thing? I tried to check my GPA on MAP and the unofficial transcript view, but it seems like it hasn't updated yet.

Also, for the course final, it seems like my prof might have made a mistake(gave me 96% on the rubric but 90% as the final grade). Idk if I should just take it or contact him through email(since canvas mail closed) to ask about it.

I want to start going to the gym, but I have pretty long hair(65cm) and also sweat kind of easily when I exercise. Currently I wash my hair once every 2-3 days, because each wash + dry takes over an hour, and my scalp gets irritated when I wash my hair every day.

I would like to ask if there is any way to prevent a lot of sweating 😓 or other possible solutions to this problem.

In the context of the U.S. civil war, some northern bourgeois supported abolitionists and later, the Union during the war. Why did they do this?

Also, southern bourgeois were obviously in support of slavery, but also, why? Is it just because of difference in terrain/environment and the development of production methods between the North and South?

Hello guy I would like to learn more about this period of history. I know that this famine was had some origins in the policies of war communism, but I think prior to it both Tsarist Russia, Red, and White forces seized food supplies—not sure how that may have affected the famine or not. Also I know that Western powers, namely the US, came to bail the Union out. Please lmk if I'm wrong😊

I'd like to know the circumstances of this famine and whether the leadership under Lenin messed up big time or if they did as much as they could to relieve the situation. Thanks!!
