Is The Frame actually worth it if I absolutely hate recurring subscription fees? Are the Hisense/TCL alternatives any good?
Hey everyone, I’m currently planning a living room renovation and my partner is dead set on getting the "art gallery look" over the fireplace. Naturally, we looked into Samsung’s The Frame. The flush mount looks amazing, but I just found out you have to pay a monthly subscription fee ($5.99/mo) just to access a decent art library.
To be honest, I am completely exhausted by subscription paywalls for hardware I already bought. I know I can upload my own photos, but I want a seamless art mode without constant manual management.
I’ve seen people on other audio-visual subs mentioning that Hisense (CanvasTV) has put out similar matte-screen art TVs recently. Do any of you have experience cross-shopping these? Does the Hisense CanvasTV actually deliver on the "no art fee" promise, or should I just suck it up and pay the Samsung art tax? Appreciate any honest feedback before I drop $1500+.
