The biggest chicken beggar
A small compilation of yesterdays mews
A small compilation of yesterdays mews
This is my girl Beluga! All has been well, but I did notice after her leucofeligen vaccination, both times it’s completely knocked her out and made her throw up for about 12 hrs after 48hrs had elapsed after the vaccination. She accepted her tea as she went back to bed on her heat mat but this morning she ate and then zoomed around and was sick, even when feeding her tiny amounts often.
I just wanted to get some feelers for how Abby’s tummy’s are as I know this is probably a one off from the vaccination and to take her to the vet if 24s has passed and she’s still not keeping food down but wanted to know as before her I had a sphynx cat who had terrible problems with his digestive/intestinal tract, which I didn’t expect as the breed hasn’t been around too long and back then not much was known other than heart issues, but it was a extremely traumatic end with my sphynx, he basically had a thickened intestines and no amount of anti inflammatories could get him in a way where his intestines were able to absorb nutrients.
Just to clarify why I’m being overly cautious, I know this current stint is probably from her vaccination, but sometimes when I pick her up (I properly support her legs when she is picked up) but sometimes I hear a swirling grumble from her tummy. This never results in her being sick.
I’ve been feeding her what the breeder gave her which is Animonda Carny, the breeder had also given me royal canin kitten biscuits, but had been giving these sparingly as I’m not sure I agree with carb heavy diets for cats especially if abys are prone to teeth issues, I’m thinking about keeping her completely on wet food if I can, but would love second opinions on this.
There was a small mention from the breeder that the dad cat only accepted Applaws but when I asked further she said it was preference based apposed to him having stomach issues.
Finally I’d like to know are you schedule feeding your cats? I have been free feeding before but can see she is more food motivated than my other cats so am going to set up my chip reader to only open for my elder cat taro who is underweight for free feeding biscuits.
She also doesn’t readily drink water, only the water I mix into her wet food, I assume this is fine but I’d like her to understand the water bowls purpose, lol.
Any input is greatly appreciated, been absolutely loving the warm welcome Beluga and I have had from this reddit, love you all and pet your Abby for me!
More beluga pictures for you! Had her 3 weeks now 😭 💞would say she’s grown another small apricot in size.
She’s the best companion, she’s so sweet and the soft spoken mews she makes makes her too cute for this earth 😭😭
I must say her boisterous nature is driving my older cats up the walls, poor things sick of having their tails chased, lol
She started her first day by being fiercely independent, now she’s tearing up the house and my plants and curtains, but also a massive ham now…and generally being the most playful kitten I’ve ever had! And I’ve had some high energy breeds.
My question for you is even though I’m at home she’s getting bored of her feather wand, what are some other ways I can keep her interested?
We started clicker training which she learnt SO FAST. Was mostly to keep the cogs turning but what else can I do to keep her busy when I have to do my job? Even though I work from home I’d love some pointers of stuff I can do to keep her busy when im busy!
I want to show her at the next kitten show in sept, but no idea where to get started with that either!
