Primary Election Voting

The Oregon SOS office posts the numbers each day of election on voter turnout, and Jackson County is at 16.1%. That is the 6th lowest of the 36 counties, so many people still have ballots to turn in.

Secretary of State Tobias Read has put out information that at this point, all ballots should be placed in a drop box instead of a mailbox, to ensure it gets counted. The two drop boxes in Medford are at the elections office at 1101 W. Main St, and in the library parking lot.

Not a whole lot on the ballot for partisan races, and even less on the ballot for those that aren't a registered D/R. I highly encourage a Yes vote for the RVTD levy, which continues the current funding. I submitted a measure argument in the voters pamphlet in support with fellow Medford City Councilors Garrett West and Jessica Ayres.

Notable races are CD2 for Dems, Governor race for Repubs, and, of course, the one I am on with 4 other candidates, the Democratic nomination for State Senate.

However you vote, I encourage people to get their ballots turned in and make your voice heard. Also to encourage others to as well.
