Are the Mavericks trying to F-over thousands of season ticket holders with a preseason game “bait and switch”?

Dallas Mavericks appear to be putting a preseason game in 10-game Club Maverick plans again — despite their own terms defining a “Game Ticket” as a regular-season game

Mavs partial season ticket plan holder here.

The 2026-27 schedules were just assigned, and one of the 10 games in my Club Maverick Weekend Game package is Friday, October 16 vs. Atlanta — a preseason game.

What makes this interesting is the Mavericks’ current Club Maverick Terms & Conditions, specifically define:
“Game Ticket” as a ticket to a regular-season game.

So we purchase a 10-game plan, and one of the ten tickets they assigned me is preseason, it seems pretty reasonable to ask why I’m not receiving 10 regular-season “Game Tickets” as their own terms define them.

Do you think we are so feeble-minded we will accept a cheapo preseason game so they can sell the high dollar weekend games?
There are SEVERAL weekend games not included (Spurs Saturday 10/24, Rockets Friday 10/30 or 1/31, Pistons Friday 1/29, LAKERS Sunday 2/28)

And apparently this isn't the first time this has happened.

Back in 2022, Mavericks 10-game plan holders had a preseason game included in their package and raised essentially the same issue using the same “Game Ticket = regular-season game” language. The Mavericks ultimately replaced the preseason game with a regular-season game. Are they trying the same bait and switch again?

I’ve reached out to my ticket rep for clarification and am giving them a chance to address it, because this may simply be something that gets corrected.

But I'm curious:

Area any other NBA teams sneakily including preseason games as part of their partial season ticket packages??
